Kevin has been mastering 10 different live versions of "The Denial Twist" by The White Stripes from their UK tour this month, all available as download only. These tracks were hot off the press - some were mastered only 2 days after the actual concerts! The record company has been using eMasters as an FTP site for speedy transfer and secure storage of the tracks.

We were all very saddened to hear this week of the untimely passing of mastering veteran Chris Blair. Over the years at Abbey Road, Chris built himself a reputation as one of the very best in the business, working with a list of clients that reads like a hall of fame. Our condolences go to his family, colleagues and friends - music has lost a legend.

WALLIS & RUFFY COME BACK FOR MORE WITH 'MOHAIR'...
Mohair is a band destined for big things in 2006, with the UK music press already loving what they hear, calling the band, "Big-hearted boisterous pop with a mighty spring in its step". So when the album's highly-respected producers Mark Wallis & David Ruffy came to Kevin to master the album "Small Talk", it was great news! London record company XL Recordings have had a number of artists from their fine repertoire mastered at The Soundmasters.
The Prodigy's early 2005 singles, "Hot Ride" and "Girls" were both mastered by Kevin, as was single "Voodoo People/Out Of Space" that has just been released, with remixes by Audio Bullys and current drum & bass favourites Pendulum.
Kevin and Streaky have between them mastered the first three singles from The White Stripes' latest album - "Blue Orchid", "My Doorbell" and the forthcoming "The Denial Twist".
Just last week Kevin mastered the forthcoming single "Heard Somebody Say" from 'one of the most fascinating, unpredictable and inspiring artists of his generation'.

THE WAINWRIGHTS FAMILY AFFAIR...
One of Kevin's most significant mastering credits in recent months has been critically acclaimed artist Rufus Wainwright's latest album "Want Two". This was mastered at The Soundmasters by Kevin and released in March 2005.
Last week Kevin also mastered a further two songs to be used as bonus tracks on the end of a forthcoming re-release of the album.
...And keeping it in the family, Streaky has also mastered two singles from Rufus' sister Martha, entitled "When The Day Is Short" and "Far Away", both on Drowned In Sound recordings.

SINEAD O'CONNER WITH SLY AND ROBBIE ALBUM
Kevin has once again been given the opportunity to master the handiwork of Sly and Robbie on the latest album from Sinead O'Connor, produced by the Caribbean rhythm kings.
"Throw Down Your Arms" is an album of interpretations of traditional Caribbean tracks and tunes by some of Jamaica's most influential artists, given a new lease of life with a blend of O'Connor's unique voice and Sly & Robbie's brilliant backing.
Kevin has also been busy mastering all of the latest rhythm and artist albums released on one of the world's most respectable and well-established independent music labels, Greensleeves records. Ones to watch out for are "The Biggest Reggae One Drop Anthems 2005" and "Soul Deep", the latest album from dancehall star Sizzla.
And our faithful Japanese friends Jammers Productions have been regular visitors as ever, bringing a number of Japanese reggae and pop artists such as Dubsensemania, Kenji Jammer and Little Tempo. KEVIN MASTERS JOHN PEEL CHARITY SINGLE
Kevin was thrilled to have been called upon to master the charity single for Amnesty International, the charity John Peel avidly supported. This single coincides which the release of the double album 'John Peel - A Tribute'.
The song is a cover of The Buzzcocks' "Ever Fallen In Love" and was performed by an amazing selection of British artists, including legends such as Robert Plant, Elton John and Roger Daltrey, also featuring new artists like The Futureheads, The Datsuns and El Presidente.

ROCK LEGEND PLANT NEW ALBUM
Former front man of Led Zeppelin and veritable rock legend Robert Plant had his latest album mastered with Kevin at the turn of the year. "Mighty Rearranger" is the latest offering from Plant and his band The Strange Sensation, and the album has received widespread critical acclaim.
Also soon to be released is a live concert from Paris that was mastered by Kevin in September 2005. The live gig includes tracks from the new album, as well as a couple of absolutely killer versions of classic Led Zep tracks.

One of the current hottest production teams in UK music is that of Mark Wallis and Dave Ruffy. With several huge credits to their names already, they have brought two albums to The Soundmasters to be mastered by Kevin.

Streaky mastered world-renowned techno pop guru Moby's live concert in Leuven, Belgium (the home of Stella Artois for you lager louts!) for DVD at in stereo and 5.1 Surround, as well as mastering pop icons Erasure's live album for DVD in 5.1 Surround and stereo.
As if that wasn't enough! Only days later Streaky mastered 'Live at Brixton Academy' from one of the UK's current biggest bands, Kasabian. PAUL WELLER VISITS THE SOUNDMASTERS
The Soundmasters were privileged to have mastered the latest album from Paul Weller, the third he has had mastered here. "As Is Now" is being called his best solo offering for 10 years, and its quality has shown through with its first two singles reaching Number 6 (From The Floorboards Up) and Number 14 (Come On/Let's Go) in the UK singles chart.
The mastering of the album took place on July 7th, the day of the bombs in London, and while we were lucky to have all made it into work safely, we were also very grateful that Paul and his producer Jan "Stan" Kybert both made the trip in to the studio that day!

SINEAD O'CONNER WITH SLY AND ROBBIE ALBUM
Kevin has once again been given the opportunity to master the handiwork of Sly and Robbie on the latest album from Sinead O'Connor, produced by the Caribbean rhythm kings.
"Throw Down Your Arms" is an album of interpretations of traditional Caribbean tracks and tunes by some of Jamaica's most influential artists, given a new lease of life with a blend of O'Connor's unique voice and Sly & Robbie's brilliant backing.
Kevin has also been busy mastering all of the latest rhythm and artist albums released on one of the world's most respectable and well-established independent music labels, Greensleeves records. Ones to watch out for are "The Biggest Reggae One Drop Anthems 2005" and "Soul Deep", the latest album from dancehall star Sizzla.
And our faithful Japanese friends Jammers Productions have been regular visitors as ever, bringing a number of Japanese reggae and pop artists such as Dubsensemania, Kenji Jammer and Little Tempo. Naturally, Kevin is very flattered that these artists continue to make trips over from the land of the rising sun specifically to master with him!

KEVIN MASTERS JOHN PEEL CHARITY SINGLE
Kevin was thrilled to have been called upon to master the charity single for Amnesty International, the charity John Peel avidly supported. This single coincides which the release of the double album 'John Peel - A Tribute'.
The song is a cover of The Buzzcocks' "Ever Fallen In Love" and was performed by an amazing selection of British artists, including legends such as Robert Plant, Elton John and Roger Daltrey, also featuring new artists like The Futureheads, The Datsuns and El Presidente.

ROCK LEGEND PLANT NEW ALBUM
Former front man of Led Zeppelin and veritable rock legend Robert Plant had his latest album mastered with Kevin at the turn of the year. "Mighty Rearranger" is the latest offering from Plant and his band The Strange Sensation, and the album has received widespread critical acclaim.
Also soon to be released is a live concert from Paris that was mastered by Kevin in September 2005. The live gig includes tracks from the new album, as well as a couple of absolutely killer versions of classic Led Zep tracks.

WALLIS & RUFFYWITH ALABAMA 3...
One of the current hottest production teams in UK music is that of Mark Wallis and Dave Ruffy. With several huge credits to their names already, they have brought two albums to The Soundmasters to be mastered by Kevin.

Streaky mastered world-renowned techno pop guru Moby's live concert in Leuven, Belgium (the home of Stella Artois for you lager louts!) for DVD at in stereo and 5.1 Surround, as well as mastering pop icons Erasure's live album for DVD in 5.1 Surround and stereo.
As if that wasn't enough! Only days later Streaky mastered 'Live at Brixton Academy' from one of the UK's current biggest bands, Kasabian. This was previously only available for download as separate tracks, and due to its popularity the whole gig was then mastered by Streaky in 5.1 Surround and stereo.

PAUL WELLER VISITS THE SOUNDMASTERS
The Soundmasters were privileged to have mastered the latest album from Paul Weller, the third he has had mastered here. "As Is Now" is being called his best solo offering for 10 years, and its quality has shown through with its first two singles reaching Number 6 (From The Floorboards Up) and Number 14 (Come On/Let's Go) in the UK singles chart.
The mastering of the album took place on July 7th, the day of the bombs in London, and while we were lucky to have all made it into work safely, we were also very grateful that Paul and his producer Jan "Stan" Kybert both made the trip in to the studio that day!

THE WAINWRIGHTS FAMILY AFFAIR...
One of Kevin's most significant mastering credits in recent months has been critically acclaimed artist Rufus Wainwright's latest album "Want Two". This was mastered at The Soundmasters by Kevin and released in March 2005.

SINEAD O'CONNER WITH SLY AND ROBBIE ALBUM
Kevin has once again been given the opportunity to master the handiwork of Sly and Robbie on the latest album from Sinead O'Connor, produced by the Caribbean rhythm kings.
"Throw Down Your Arms" is an album of interpretations of traditional Caribbean tracks and tunes by some of Jamaica's most influential artists, given a new lease of life with a blend of O'Connor's unique voice and Sly & Robbie's brilliant backing.
Kevin has also been busy mastering all of the latest rhythm and artist albums released on one of the world's most respectable and well-established independent music labels, Greensleeves records. Ones to watch out for are "The Biggest Reggae One Drop Anthems 2005" and "Soul Deep", the latest album from dancehall star Sizzla.
And our faithful Japanese friends Jammers Productions have been regular visitors as ever, bringing a number of Japanese reggae and pop artists such as Dubsensemania, Kenji Jammer and Little Tempo. Naturally, Kevin is very flattered that these artists continue to make trips over from the land of the rising sun specifically to master with him!

KEVIN MASTERS JOHN PEEL CHARITY SINGLE
Kevin was thrilled to have been called upon to master the charity single for Amnesty International, the charity John Peel avidly supported. This single coincides which the release of the double album 'John Peel - A Tribute'.
The song is a cover of The Buzzcocks' "Ever Fallen In Love" and was performed by an amazing selection of British artists, including legends such as Robert Plant, Elton John and Roger Daltrey, also featuring new artists like The Futureheads, The Datsuns and El Presidente.

ROCK LEGEND PLANT NEW ALBUM
Former front man of Led Zeppelin and veritable rock legend Robert Plant had his latest album mastered with Kevin at the turn of the year. "Mighty Rearranger" is the latest offering from Plant and his band The Strange Sensation, and the album has received widespread critical acclaim.
Also soon to be released is a live concert from Paris that was mastered by Kevin in September 2005. The live gig includes tracks from the new album, as well as a couple of absolutely killer versions of classic Led Zep tracks.

WALLIS & RUFFYWITH ALABAMA 3...
One of the current hottest production teams in UK music is that of Mark Wallis and Dave Ruffy. With several huge credits to their names already, they have brought two albums to The Soundmasters to be mastered by Kevin.
The first of these was in early 2005 and is "Outlaw", the latest album from Alabama 3, including singles "Hello I'm Johnny Cash" and "How Can I Protect You?" www.alabama3.co.uk

CRAIG ARMSTRONG
"Filmworks" is a collection of Craig Armstrong's greatest works from the many films he has scored, and follows on from "Plunkett & Macleane OST" and "The Space Between Us" as the third album Kevin has mastered from Armstrong, one of the world's leading film composers.
The album contains tracks from films such as Moulin Rouge, Love Actually, Romeo & Juliet, The Bone Collector, Cruel Intentions and Ray.

SIMPLY RED SPICE UP THE SOUNDMASTERS!
Kevin has mastered the new album from UK pop giants Simply Red this summer, mastered from ½" analogue tape - a comparative rarity nowadays!
"Simplified" is now the fourth Simply Red album that Kevin has mastered, and it features a combination of new songs and reworkings of some of their classic tracks, with decidedly Latin overtones spicing up the whole affair.

KASABIAN, ERASURE & MOBY
SUMMER ENDS WITH 5.1 MANIA!
Streaky mastered world-renowned techno pop guru Moby's live concert in Leuven, Belgium (the home of Stella Artois for you lager louts!) for DVD at in stereo and 5.1 Surround, as well as mastering pop icons Erasure's live album for DVD in 5.1 Surround and stereo.
As if that wasn't enough! Only days later Streaky mastered 'Live at Brixton Academy' from one of the UK's current biggest bands, Kasabian. This was previously only available for download as separate tracks, and due to its popularity the whole gig was then mastered by Streaky in 5.1 Surround and stereo.

PAUL WELLER VISITS THE SOUNDMASTERS
The Soundmasters were privileged to have mastered the latest album from Paul Weller, the third he has had mastered here. "As Is Now" is being called his best solo offering for 10 years, and its quality has shown through with its first two singles reaching Number 6 (From The Floorboards Up) and Number 14 (Come On/Let's Go) in the UK singles chart.
The mastering of the album took place on July 7th, the day of the bombs in London, and while we were lucky to have all made it into work safely, we were also very grateful that Paul and his producer Jan "Stan" Kybert both made the trip in to the studio that day!
